  • In a Flemish village in Belgium, the most remarkable lottery win took place.
  • 21 friends won the jackpot and will share the €121 million equally among themselves.
  • The friends gathered that same day to celebrate their special lucky day.

We’ve all heard stories about a group of lottery winners who start fighting as soon as they win that much money. Whether it’s a partner running off with someone else or a family falling apart because of a prize pot, money changes people.

Jackpot Won by 21 Friends in Belgium

But that does not apply to the 21 friends from a Belgian village who landed a gigantic €121 million win in EuroMillions and seem happy with their share, since each of them will receive about €5.8 million. These winners are part of the Flemish community of Zingem and are now becoming part of one of the most beautiful lottery stories ever published.

Marianne, who is among the winners, was interviewed by AFP, and she found it hard to believe her great luck - winning €5.8 million is a substantial amount for the retiree, who was overwhelmed with the news. The winnings occurred on January 30, with the news only becoming widely known in recent days.

Media sources indicate that the 21 friends gathered together to celebrate on the same day the announcement was made, with many sharing their excitement with journalists. The winners collectively acknowledged that the winnings would certainly make "life easier."

The recent jackpot didn't top the €168 million won in October 2016, but it remains one of the largest amounts ever won in the country, and it's definitely notable that 21 people claimed it together this time.

Additionally, a woman in Michigan, USA, won $250,000 on her birthday, adding another remarkable story to the fabric of lottery tales that almost seem unbelievable.
