Eleni Panagiotopoulou, who oversees the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) division at SOFTSWISS, has been selected as the 2025 AML or MLR Professional of the Year by the Global Regulatory Awards.

The accolade celebrates professionals who deliver outstanding work in upholding compliance and fostering responsible gaming amid a complex, shifting regulatory environment. Recipients are celebrated for their specialized knowledge, guiding influence, and commitment to elevating sector benchmarks.

Panagiotopoulou commented: "Receiving this distinction is truly rewarding, yet it's especially meaningful to witness AML best practices gaining prominence in the field.

Guided by her direction, the SOFTSWISS AML unit has established fresh standards in workflow optimization and adherence reliability. In the last 12 months, notable advancements encompassed team growth and enhanced capabilities for overseeing transactions and investigating cases; a 75% surge in flagged suspicious incidents reported, facilitating prompt notifications and authority consultations; deployment of AI-driven screening systems and instant data insights to sharpen fraud identification; and her advocacy for SOFTSWISS in global discussions and sector gatherings, advancing principled strategies against illicit finance.

Additionally, Panagiotopoulou oversaw revisions to SOFTSWISS AML guidelines in various regions, including Brazil, Peru, South Africa, Malta, Curacao, Serbia, and Nigeria, aiding seamless adaptation to local rules for international expansion.

Her broader contributions are evident in over 25 hours of sessions on AML and ethical gaming practices, aiding SOFTSWISS staff and the wider online gaming network.
